The Idea
This project has been brewing in my mind for at least two and a half decades. The concept is straightforward: Document every step from initial inspiration to full execution, empowering anyone to build their own ninepin bowling alley.
About Me
My name is Boštjan Pen, and my ninepin journey began in 1992 when I first stepped onto the lanes at KK Triglav in Kranj, Slovenia. The vibrant atmosphere and the strong sense of camaraderie fostered by our trainer, Janez Lužan, drew me in. As of this writing, I’m in my 34th season and still actively playing.Through the sport and our trainer’s guidance, I’ve forged lifelong friendships and learned invaluable life lessons. Long ago, I decided to carry on this legacy by mentoring younger generations.
The Approach
The ninepin community is vast, and I believe many share my dream of owning a sports center to give back to the sport. However, bridging the gap between an idea and a completed project is challenging. That’s why I’ve spent the last decade-plus immersed in renovations, project management, real estate, and the sport itself.
The key to success in any project lies in securing funding and assembling the right team. So, I’ve chosen to invite the entire ninepin community to participate. Envision it as a multidisciplinary team of talented individuals united toward a common goal.
